Patriots Rally Past Revolution 6-5

York, PA – The Somerset Patriots (1-2, 47-25) salvaged the series finale by defeating the York Revolution (2-1, 43-30) 6-5 Wednesday night from Santander Stadium.

In the top of the first inning right fielder Luis Montanez clubbed a three run home run (10) to give the Patriots an early 3-0 advantage.

Montanez drilled a RBI single in the top of the third inning to increase Somerset’s lead to 4-0.

Designated hitter Eric Patterson socked a game tying grand slam (8) in the bottom of the sixth inning to even the score at 4-4.

York took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning as right fielder Justin Greene sliced a RBI single.

The Patriots evened the contest at 5-5 in the top of the eighth inning when third baseman Brian Barden delivered a RBI single.

Somerset grabbed the lead in the top of the ninth inning as third baseman Corey Smith laced a RBI double to make the score 6-5 which would be the final.

Mike DeMark (5-1) earned the win in relief. Rommie Lewis (2-1) suffered the loss in relief. Jon Hunton notched his Atlantic League leading 23^rd save.

The 2014 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue tomorrow night when the Patriots return to TD Bank Ballpark for a 7:05 p.m. game against the Sugar Land Skeeters.
