Patriots Defeat Revolution 4-1
Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (9-8, 55-31) salvaged the series finale against the York Revolution (9-7, 50-36) by winning 4-1 Saturday evening from TD Bank Ballpark.
In the top of the first inning designated hitter Travis Garcia pounded a RBI double to give York an early 1-0 advantage.
The Patriots plated three runs in the home half of the first inning to take a 3-1 lead as right fielder Luis Montanez poked a RBI double and left fielder Ty Wright legged out a two RBI infield single.
Second baseman Jonny Tucker drilled a RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning to expand Somerset’s lead to 4-1.
Derell McCall (5-4) earned the win tossing a season-high seven innings while surrendering just one run. Alain Quijano (7-6) endured the loss hurling seven innings while allowing three runs. Jon Hunton notched his Atlantic League leading 29th save pitching the ninth inning.
