In Your Opinion: Discouraging To Lose Election Because Of Ballot Position

By Bill Connell, Somerset.

The Board of Education vote was very interesting and revealed a flaw. A person who did nothing and never articulated a position, Michele Shelton, came in second place.

This proves that people voted by number, not by content of message. This is not a new problem but tonight’s vote made it clear. All the other candidates on the ballot took the time to knock on doors and articulate their positions. I feel bad for all the other candidates who worked and still lost. It must be discouraging to those with a real message to lose by your position on the ballot.

Anyone who voted , thank you , but in this digital age, it’s not that hard to find out what all the candidates are about.
