Middlebush Park Concession Stand Ready For Use

The Middlebush Park concession stand is ready for use.

The long-awaited concession stand at Middlebush Park is ready for use.

That was the word Sept. 19 from Township Manager Robert Vornlocker.

The stand, which cost about $500,000, was hoped to have been operational by the beginning of the month. But, as Vornlocker explained to the Township Council on Sept. 12, there were some issues.

“There have been a number of issues with getting adequate power from Demott (Lane) into the park,” Vornlocker told the council. “There is now a transformer that has been installed. Service needed to be increased to the park to get adequate service to the building.”

“I’m being told that all of the power issues will be resolved by the end of the week, and that building will have full power as it should,” he said. “And then we can say, for argument’s sake, that building is complete.”

Vornlocker said on Sept. 19 that the power had, indeed, been established to the concession stand and it’s ready for use.

“Pop Warner has games scheduled for Sunday, so they should be using it,” he said.

The pre-fabricated building contains areas for storage, cooking and selling food, and bathrooms.
