Life Story: Mattie Davis, 88; New York City Native

Mrs. Mattie Davis passed away on Feb. 4 at the Regency Heritage in Somerset. She was 88 years old.

Mrs. Davis was born in New York City and lived in Teaneck prior to moving to Somerset in 2001.

She was employed for many years as a Postal Clerk in New York City. Mrs. Davis was a member of Faith Fellowship Church in Edison.

She was pre-deceased by her sons Glen and Lester Davis.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband William Davis Sr. of Somerset and her children, Frank Davis, William Davis Jr., Wayne Michael Davis and Renee Davis. She was one of nine children having two brothers and six sisters.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Tonya, Malika, Frank Jr., Lacresia, Chad, Kader, Joshua, Chezney and Rayne and nine great-grandchildren.

All services were held privately at request of the immediate family. A memorial for Mrs. Davis will be planned and held in the future.
