Life Story: Sue Krempasky, 88; Nurse, Member Of Swinging Singing Seniors

Sue Krempasky (née Aversano), 88, die March 10 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.

Sue was born to Joseph and Mary (DeArma) Aversano on May 29, 1928 in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn, NY, where she shared many happy years with her 10 siblings and many cousins. She attended Caledonian Nursing School, where upon graduation she continued her nursing career working at Caledonian Hospital, where she met her husband Bernie.

After raising their children Sue briefly moved to Staten Island, NY before settling in Somerset, where she was a member of the Franklin Township Senior Citizen Club and the Franklin Park Senior Citizens Club, where she was a past president. Sue also enjoyed and was proud to be a member of the Swinging Singing Seniors. She was an avid reader, loved to crochet, and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.

Sue was preceded in death in 1986 by her spouse, Bernard Krempasky; her brothers Francesco, Michael, Augustine, and Luigi; her sisters, Concetta (Connie) Perrotta, Florina (Flo) Milo, Nanina (Ann) Hill, Savera (Sadie) Matuszewski and Pasqualina (Ester) Verardi and her grandson, Justin.

She is survived by her daughters, Dara Azevedo and her husband James Michele Sidwell and her husband Charles; her son, Gary Krempasky and partner Lisa Zappi; her sister, Rose Whelan; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephen, Christopher and Cara; her three great-grandchildren Jayson, Carmine, Vincent and many close nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may pay their respects at Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton St. on from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. March 15.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. March 16 at St. Matthias Church in Somerset. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island.
