Life Story: Nicholas Maul, 90; U.S. Army Veteran

Nicholas “Nick” F. Maul, 90, passed away July 10 at St. Peter’s University Medical Center in New Brunswick.

Mr. Maul was born January 12, 1928 in Trenton, New Jersey to the late Nicholas and Theresa (Buchheid) Maul. He grew up in Dayton and moved to New Brunswick before settling in Somerset.

Nick served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning from the war he attended Rutgers University. Nick was an Electrician for Union Local 456 and was the vice president of NW Maul and Son. He was a longtime parishioner at St. Matthias Church in Somerset and in his free time he loved to travel with his wife.

Mr. Maul was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Eileen (Sehulster) Maul and his sister, Marion Emerson.

He is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Noebels of North Brunswick and Catherine Spahr and her husband Charles of Monmouth Jct.

Family and friends may visit from 3-7 p.m. July 13 at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Gleason Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. July 14 at St. Matthias Church in Somerset. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum in East Brunswick.
