Life Story: James ‘Mickey’ Hague, 73; Outdoorsman, Assembly Line Worker

Mr. James “Mickey” Hague passed away Dec. 20 at the Arbor Glenn Care Center in Bridgewater. He was 73 years old.

Born in Somerville, Mr. Hague lived throughout Somerset County before settling in East Millstone 44 years ago. He worked on the assembly line of the Ford Motor Company in Edison for 31 years. Mr. Hague had a second career as a school bus driver for numerous schools and municipalities for over 20 years. A true outdoorsman, Mickey loved to camp, fish, and hunt, but more than anything he cherished time spent with his family and friends.

Mr. Hague was predeceased by his father, James R. Hague, and, in June of this year, by his mother Elvina Timberlake; by his sons, Michael Glenn and Christopher Hague; and by his brother, William Hague.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharon (LaRue) Hague; by their son, David Hague of Little York, NJ, daughters, Tracy Bongiorno of Somerset and Terry Hajdu-Nemeth and her husband Lou of Somerset, and daughter-in-law, Christine Hague of Scottsdale, Az.; by his grandchildren, Brian Hague, Kevin Schoonmaker, Jessica Ruggiero and her husband Ron, Annmarie Bongiorno, Louis Hajdu-Nemeth, Alicia Bongiorno, MacAllister Hague, and Aiden Hague; by his great-grandson due next month, Christopher; by his brother, David Hague and his wife Sharon of Belle Mead; his sister-in-law Darlene Hague of Bound Brook; and by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Dec. 22 at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m.  Dec. 23 at the funeral home, followed by burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in East Millstone.
