Life Story: Corinne Berko, 78; Co-Owner Of Deli East

Corinne Berko, 78, died June 13 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.

Mrs. Berko was born July 27, 1938 in Jersey City, the daughter of Sam and Jean Miniscala. She lived in Plainsboro and was previously a longtime resident of Somerset.

Corinne and her sister owned and operated Deli East in Somerset for many years. She also worked as a real estate agent and property manager in addition to raising her family.

She was predeceased in 2009 by her loving husband, John Berko Sr.

Mrs. Berko is survived by her sons, John Berko Jr. and his wife Nancy of Piscataway, Marc Berko of Somerset, NJ and Greg Berko and his wife Debbie of Bridgewater; her daughter, Danielle Berko and her fiancé Steve Bucci of Plainsboro; her sister, Virgina Miniscala of Bridgewater; her five grandchildren, Natalie, Nicholas, Alexa, Kylie and Gillian and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick at 10 a.m. June 23.
