In Your Opinion: Prasad’s Primary Of Mayor Kramer Is Just A Nuisance

By Bill Connell, Somerset.

Some may find it unusual I did not immediately write a diatribe in this space regarding Township Councilman Rajiv Prasad’s primary challenge for Mayor. The reason is I have nothing to say. Everything has been laid out and documented and it’s up to the people of Franklin and their common sense to make a choice.

Being Mayor is a privilege and Mayor Kramer should be challenged to defend his work if he wants another go. That is completely fair. This might be a good time to tell the Republicans if you are going to campaign just on the Prasad debacle, give up now, that is not a platform, you need to bring ideas.

The person I feel bad for is Peg Schaefer, Somerset County Democratic Chair. She protected Prasad and now Prasad turns around and costs her real money with a primary. No good dead goes unpunished. It’s like that story of the Frog and the Scorpion.

Very simply put, there is nothing Councilman Prasad has done that comes close to the sophistication that Mayor Kramer has shown doing his job. Kramer deserves another shot. The Republicans deserve a shot at taking him out and that is their fight to win or lose. This primary is just a nuisance.
