In Your Opinion: Don’t Fix Tickets, Fix Council

By Bill Connell, Somerset.

It is clear from the comments made to me that far more people read these Speak Out pieces than I realized.  When asked why I have not written anything on the Township Council, I say I am giving up.  All I have accomplished is now the  Democratic Party treats me like Scientology treats Leah Remini.  This has been going on long enough where the Democratic Committee of citizens should have spoken out about this but have not.

It’s football season, let’s use a football metaphor.

I wish I could be as thoughtful and intellectual as Mayor Kramer, but I am just not. By far my favorite Councilman is Carl Wright.  He plays the game and enjoys it.  He trash talks your mother at the line of scrimmage, he puts you on your back, then smiles and points from up high, and raises the ball in the air at the 20 yard line as he is sprinting to the end zone.

Councilman Prasad, on the other hand, deflates the ball, sticks his leg out on the field from the sideline, moons the fans, and pees on the goal post.

That sideline metaphor may not work since he can’t find boundaries, but you get the point.

The problem is this is not a game.  With the ticket incident, Prasad is now involving salaried people who are just trying make a living and feed their family.  That’s a problem.

I can understand people’s dislike for politics, but you can do one simple thing.

Council does not like long, lecturing, self-important emails. Trust me, I know.  On the other hand, you can just write one simple email, this should get the point across. You can even cut and paste it from this article.

“Don’t fix tickets, fix Council.”

Have a nice weekend everyone.
