FR&A Pictorial: ‘Winnie The Pooh Christmas Carol’ Set For Middle School

The latest theatrical offering by Franklin Middle School students is one that is close to the director’s heart.

That’s because the idea for “A Winnie the Pooh Christmas Carol” was conceived by director Ellen Beattie in 2000, when she was the artistic director for Metuchen Forum Theatre’s “A Kid’s Forum.”

The story marries two classics, “Winnie the Pooh” with “A Christmas Carol.”

Somerset resident Paul Farinella wrote the show’s music and lyrics, while Glen Ridge resident Paul Whelihan wrote the book.

The show will be performed at 7 p.m. on Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 and at 2 p.m. Dec. 7 in the school’s auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, and can be reserved by emailing FMSTickets@gmail.com.
