Fall Leaf Curbside Collection Begins Oct. 28

leavesIt’s that time of year again; the curbside leaf collection program will begin Oct. 28 and run through Nov. 29.

The leaf drop-off program started Oct. 21, and also runs through Nov. 29.

Regardless of whether they are picked up or dropped off, the leaves must be placed in brown paper biodegradable bags with the Franklin Township logo imprinted, or a township sticker placed on them.

The cost for leaf bags is 50 cents each, stickers cost 25 cents each. They can both be purchased weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from the township clerk’s office in the municipal building, 475 DeMott Lane, and weekdays from 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the township Department of Public Works building, 40 Churchill Ave.

Senior citizens pay 25 cents for the bags, with a maximum of 40 bags.

A free leaf bag will be given for every full bag dropped off.

Drop-offs can be made at the DPW building weekdays from 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The building will be closed on Nov. 5, 11, 28 and 29.

Drop-offs can also be made at the DPW convenience center, 12 Berry St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 2, 16 and 30 and Dec. 14 and 28.

Pickups will be weekly, beginning on the Monday of each week.

The public works department will be closed for drop-offs on Nov. 5, 11, 28 and 29.
