East Franklin Fire Fighters Wash Cars For Colleague’s Daughter

Members of East Franklin Fire Department washed cars Feb. 18 to help the daughter of a Finderne colleague.

Members of the East Franklin Fire Department spent Feb. 18 washing cars for a good cause.

The fire fighters were raising money for the family of Finderne Fire Company #3 Ex-Chief Craig Ally, whose 3-year-old daughter, Sadie, is suffering from kidney cancer.

East Franklin Chief Dan Krushinski said his department wanted to do the fundraiser because they know many of their Bridgewater colleagues.

“It’s the brotherhood in the fire service,” he said. “We’re friends with most of their fire fighters. They’ve stood by us in mutual aid when we’ve had things like our dinners.”

The car wash, he said, “is basically to help them help her. Everything we collect today will go toward the donation bucket at the luncheon they’re having.”

The Finderne fire company is holding a fundraising luncheon and tricky tray Feb. 19 at the Somerville Elks Lodge.
