Crowded Field In Board Of Education Election

An incumbent and an unsuccessful candidate in last year’s Board of Education election are joined by four others in seeking the three open board seats this November.

An additional two candidates are seeking a 1-year unexpired term.

Richard Seamon, who served two terms before losing his re-election bid last year, has thrown his hat in the ring again.

Also running for a full term is Ed Potosnak, III, who was appointed earlier this year after the resignation of former board member Robert Trautmann. Potosnak’s appointment is until the end of the year.

Competing with Seamon and Potosnak for the three, 3-year terms on the board are Alex Kharazi, Donna L. Marable and Latee E. Walton-McLeod, all of Somerset and  Patricia E. Stanley, of Franklin Park.

Kharazi was the runner-up in the selection process for Trautmann’s seat.

Running for the remainder of Trautmann’s 1-year unexpired term are Laurie Merris and Margaret E. Steele, both of Somerset.
