Boone’s Complete Game Shutout Leads Patriots To 4-0 Win

618gameBridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (37-16) shutout the Bridgeport Bluefish (20-32) 4-0 Thursday evening at TD Bank Ballpark. With the victory the Patriots won the series and are now 9-0-2 in their last 11 series.

 

The Patriots scored three times in the bottom of the second inning to grab a 3-0 advantage. Shortstop Robert Andino hammered a two RBI double while catcher James Skelton socked a RBI sacrifice fly.

 

In the bottom of the seventh inning Skelton ripped a RBI double to increase the lead to 4-0.

 

Randy Boone earned the win (3-1) tossing a complete game shutout. He only scattered four hits while striking out five and walked none. It only took him 86 pitches. Cory Riordan sustained the loss (2-2) surrendering four runs on nine hits in 6.1 innings of work.
