Annual 5k Turkey Trot at Colonial Park Set for Nov. 16

The 18th Annual Somerset County Park Commission’s 5K Turkey Trot at Colonial Park is set for 9:30 a.m. Nov. 16.

The event is sanctioned and certified by U.S. Track & Field and is valued at 500 New Jersey Grand Prix points.

There will also be a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, staring at 9 a.m.

Pre-registration, postmarked before Nov. 2, is $20, with a $2 discount for USATF members. The registration fee after Nov. 2 and on the morning of the race is $25. On-site registration and packet pick-up will begin at 8 a.m. in Parking Lot B.

Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female winners in the following age categories: 14 and under; 15 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; and 70 and over. The top male and female finisher in each group will also be awarded a turkey.
