About 30 pounds of extra Halloween candy was collected in a buy-back program by Advanced Dental Arts on Easton Avenue.

This is the second year the practice has run the program. Chilcren who dropped off extra candy they collected on Halloween were paid $2 per pound.

The candy will be sent to U.S. troops serving overseas, said Dr. Joseph Haddad, the practice’s owner.

Accompanying the candy will be “thank-you” cards sent by Advanced Dental staff to the troops.

“We definitely want to thank everyone who came and brought candy in for our troops,” Haddad said. “We thank you for participating.”
