Motorcyclist Injured After Collision With RWJUH Ambulance
A 47-year-old township man suffered a head injury and broken arm Aug. 17 after his motorcycle collided with an ambulance at Franklin Boulevard and Highland Avenue, police said.
Louis Kadubic of Somerset was riding his 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Highland while Jason Meizenis, 43, was driving the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital ambulance on Franklin Blvd., with the auto’s emergency lights and warning siren activated, when the accident occurred, police said.
The ambulance was transporting a patient at the time of the accident, police said.
Kadubic and the patient were transported to area hospitals by EMS personnel who responded to the accident, police said. Kadubic’s injuries were not considered to be life-threatening, police said.
Franklin Boulevard was reduced to one lane of traffic for several hours during the investigation by the FTPD’s traffic safety bureau.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and no charges have been filed as yet, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call Cpl. Michael Deutchman at 732-873-5533 extension 3110.
